Safety Is How the Fun Starts
We love big smiles, loud laughs, and tired kids at the end of the day — but none of that happens without safety first. Our inflatables are built for fun, and they’re even better when everyone knows how to use them the right way. These rules help prevent avoidable injuries, protect your guests and your property, and make sure your event is remembered for the fun, not for an accident.
By following the rules below and having a responsible adult supervising at all times, you’re helping us create a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Parent, Teacher, and Organizer Responsibilities
Every inflatable must have a designated adult (18+) watching it the entire time it’s in use. That person is responsible for:
-
Understanding and enforcing the rules below.
-
Grouping kids by age/size and watching for rough play.
-
Stopping use immediately if weather, power, or behavior becomes unsafe.
Our team will set up, secure, and inspect your unit and walk you through the basics before your event. After that, it’s up to the supervising adults to keep an eye on things and speak up when something isn’t safe.
Weather and Power Guidelines
Good weather and proper power are a big part of safe inflatable use.
-
Do not use any inflatable in high winds, lightning, or severe weather.
-
If wind picks up, heavy rain starts, or thunder/lightning is present, have all guests exit the unit right away and keep it closed until conditions improve.
-
Keep all children away from the blower, power cords, and anchors/stakes.
-
Do not move, unplug, or adjust equipment after our team sets it up.
-
If the unit deflates or loses power for any reason, have everyone exit calmly and immediately, then contact us.
General Safety Rules (All Units)
These rules apply to all bounce houses, water slides, and combo units:
-
An adult (18+) must supervise the inflatable at all times.
-
Follow all instructions from Party Star Inflatables and all safety labels on the unit.
-
Group riders by similar age and size; do not mix very small children with much larger kids.
-
Never exceed the posted maximum number of riders or weight limit.
-
No flips, wrestling, tackling, pushing, or rough play.
-
Remove shoes, glasses, jewelry, and any sharp or hard objects from pockets before entering.
-
No food, drinks, gum, candy, confetti, glitter, silly string, or similar items on or in the inflatable.
-
No pets on or near the inflatable.
-
Do not climb, hang, or sit on walls, netting, roofs, or outside surfaces.
-
Keep entrances and exits clear at all times; no sitting or playing in doorways or on steps.
-
Keep children away from blowers, extension cords, and tie-downs/stakes.
-
If the unit starts to lose air or deflate, have everyone exit immediately and contact us.
-
Do not use the inflatable in high winds, lightning, heavy rain, or other severe weather.
-
Anyone who is sick, injured, pregnant, or wearing a cast/brace should not use the inflatable.
-
Remove any child who does not follow the rules or listen to the supervising adult.
Bounce House Rules
Bounce houses are for safe, active play — not roughhousing.
-
Only the recommended number of children may bounce at one time.
-
Children should bounce in the center of the floor, away from walls and entrance/exit.
-
No climbing on interior walls, netting, pillars, or roof areas.
-
Do not allow kids to sit or lay near the entrance where others are coming in and out.
-
No toys, balls, or outside objects inside the bounce house unless approved by Party Star Inflatables.
Dry Slide Rules (Bounce/Combo Slides and Standalone Slides)
Dry slides are a blast when used correctly.
-
One rider at a time on each slide lane unless the unit specifically allows more.
-
Riders must slide feet-first, seated on their bottom — no head-first sliding.
-
Never climb up the slide surface; always use the ladder or steps.
-
Wait until the landing area is clear before the next rider slides.
-
Do not jump from the top platform; sit down and slide only.
-
No racing, pushing, or crowding on the stairs, platform, or slide.
Wet Slide and Water Unit Rules
Water units are extra fun — and require extra attention.
-
Adult supervision is required at all times around water.
-
Only use water on units that Party Star Inflatables has set up and approved as “wet.”
-
No diving, head-first sliding, or flips into the pool or landing area.
-
One rider at a time on each slide lane unless otherwise specified.
-
Riders must slide feet-first down the slide every time.
-
No running on wet surfaces; wet grass and mats can be slippery.
-
No rough play, dunking, or pushing in the pool or splash area.
-
Do not add soap, shampoo, oils, or any other substances to the water or slide.
-
Stop use if the water becomes overly muddy or unsafe and contact us with any concerns.
-
Do not move, drain, or attempt to deflate a wet unit unless directed by our team.
Combo Unit Rules (Bounce + Slide)
Combo units combine bouncing and sliding, so all general rules apply plus:
-
Follow bounce house rules in the bounce area and slide rules on the slide.
-
Keep the number of children inside and on the slide within the posted limits.
-
Do not allow children to climb over interior walls to reach the slide; use the proper opening or stairs.
-
Make sure the slide landing area is clear before the next child slides.
-
Do not allow children to sit or play at the bottom of the slide or block the exit.
